Happy international steampunk day!

So yeah, that title.
Also, in honour of said day, Artifakt was in Antwerp today to celebrate,
and what better way to do it than with a picknick, I mean, the sun is there!

Pictures will be online soon,
but for now, just know that there were six of us, which isn't a lot,
but we had a jolly good time,

We sat ourselves down on a field of grass at the back of Antwerp Central Station
and we had lots of foodstuff, good company, and music, what more can one want.

I know it's a really short post, but here, have Shinto with a bow, Shinto loves bows.

A busy bee.

This week is incredibly busy for me,
as I try to get everything in order for the Elf Fantasy Fair this weekend,
finish a custom wooden artefact for a friend of mine,
and make bee hotels for work.

I am working my ass off to make Artifakt -our group of steampunkers- more known,
and I might even get it on the television this weekend.
It makes me feel a slight hint of stress, not because I am afraid of camera's,
but because I fear I won't be able to say all I want to say.

I also dream some really weird things these past couple of months,
but I suppose that's just because my life has turned upside down,
and I need to process that in my head.

We'll see what today brings eh?

Costume madness and Artifakt.

The twentieth and twenty-first of april are going to be amazing,
I know that. I am meeting up with some people to go to the event called
'Elf Fantasy Fair' in The Netherlands, and I'm gonna spend two days there
to see some knights fighting, goblins teasing people, mermaids being lazy in the water,
it's gonna be great. I might even drink my first mead, knowing the people I'm gonna hang out with.

Also, as part of the Steampunk Objective, I am going to hang out with the team too,
amazingly creative people who are a blast to hang out with.
I might get some new recruits for Artifakt, the Belgian division of the Objective,
or I might get to talk to the other international spokesmen.

So these days are preparation days. And I just did a costume check,
an adventurous take on Dorian in the wastes between domes in his world of origin.
So far, I have come up with this.

A pretty accurate remake of one of the outfits in my world,
if I may say so myself.

I'm gonna go to sleep now because it's almost midnight and I have to be up at six.

With the tiny amount of sleep I get these weeks, it's really necessary for me

to get into my bed and get some shuteye.

Artifakt.

I have become the official Distinguished Spokesman
of the Belgian branch of The Steampunk Objective.
As of yesterday, we have decided on Artifakt as the name
for it's multiple interpretations and ease of remembrance.

Now, our goal is to become a familiar face on events and festivals
like the upcoming Elf Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands,
and Antwerp Convention in Belgium this month,
to become known, and to show other people
that we can have a lot of fun while being creative.

The group can now be found on facebook
(sent me a message if you want to join, people from Belgium)
and on Blogger; here.

I am excited.

Huhwhat? :3

Today I got asked by one of the creators of a group
from The Netherlands called 'The Steampunk Objective'
to become a 'Distinguished Member'.
Basically, they want me to become the number one spokesman for steampunk
in Belgium, and that's pretty amazing.

I have been following The Objective for some time now,
have met them on Phantasium,
and I am a good friend of some of the members of the team.
Their creativity is pretty amazing.
They make vehicles and contraptions,
have original characters in their group
(not just seventy airship pirates. I don't like seventy airship pirates.)
and they are a tight group of friends.

I really think you should check them out here,
as well as their official site listed on top.

And, of course, I will keep you guys up to date
with developments on the DM-case :)
