Wow. Long time no update.

Hellohai bloggers, just so you know, I ain't dead.

It's been quite a long time since I last updated this site, but here's  the reason.
Remember when I posted about the crazyness of Limburg (BE) ?
Well I've just gotten home from an almost-two-week trip there,
and guess what? I've seen flying scorpions, underwater scorpions,
red-and-black butterflies and I-don't-know-what-it-looks-like-animals.
I've been standing in a river in a gigantic forest, I helped create a creepy monkey-robot,
I have gotten my first lesson in horseback riding through the woods
(amazing) and I finally got a first lesson in driving a car.

The people in that strange part of Belgium are as unique as the land itself
and I love it.

The sixth and seventh of july I found myself in The Netherlands for a medieval festival,
as part of the crew (more like a mule carrying stuff, but I don't mind)
of a good friend of mine, who's taking the fantasy-music scene by storm.
Without me realising it, in the evening I found my self in the cellar of
the big castle of Doornenburg, serving mead to the guests who dined in their
fancy clothes. It was a magical weekend.

I'm sad and relieved to be home, for I needed to re-charge my batteries.
But you can bet your pretty buttocks I'm going back soon!

MADNESS.

Oh god. I'm behind on things. So much.
So much has happened I just.. can't.. possibly explain everything.

For starters, I know what I want to do. I want to go to school for that reason,
but I am not allowed, my coach (who helps me find work) doesn't want me to do it.
Because for one reason being that she doesn't believe that I can find a job when I
learned it. But you know, I can't find a job right now either, so what's the fuss?
Also, I have to move closer to the school, and moving out of my parent's house costs money,
that I don't have. That means finding a job during the weekends but I can't find a job like
that that I'm allowed to do. I can't do so-called 'student-jobs' for I am not a 'student'
when I go to school for that course. Yes, I know, it's strange and it's bullocks.

I guess doing what I want to do is just something that will always be just out of reach.

Also, I am back in Limburg, with the crazy-ass people,
which I love. I honestly love the people here.
It's a constant train-ride of unexpected happenings and good times,
today we had a professional-quality-but-not-professional photographer
with us, and we took pictures on cemetaries, with owls and horses,
and in the forest. It was crazy, I made a hat with horns on it.
Just.. madness, I mean check it.
Best time I had in like, a long time.

What the hell, part -some number-

Last night there was this game, like a quiz show,
only the rules were a lot more chaotic and the game was fast.
There were celebrities, like Stephen Fry, and regular folk like me.
Te rules were .. quite hard to explain, for cheating behind the scenes and on the field was allowed.
The game was played indoors, in a gym, and two teams (it could be played 1v1 or 2v2, or something else) started on opposite sides.
behind the teams, against the wall, were static representations of the cards in a deck,
and one had to bounce the card on the field (which had to be used like a ball, but shoved, not rolled)
against the matching card on the opponent's side. When you succeeded in that, you could answer the question
given to you by an invisible show host. The players were geniusses of all sorts and took two minutes,
complete with graphs and images, to explain for example Atychiphobia.

To give you a good example of the chaos during the game, I was facing a chinese girl named Wang,
a highly-flexible, fast woman dressed in a black leather one-piece suit.
The lady had scored a few times and had sent my team mates home already, but she stood alone as well.
Behind the scenes I shook her hand during the breaks, and I deduced something.
After the break I Wang unveiled her plan: she was actually a man named Chang,
but I already knew that. But now that she showed her true nature I got joined by a man in a white suit,
and together we decided to tackle the fast man dressed in woman's clothes.

Chang had the card on the field, and when I tried to steal it he somersaulted over me while
shoving the card between my feet with the tip of his black high pumps.
The card glowed purple and I saw my chance, for I eventually took it with my feet.
The card, sensing the change in team, glowed and became a purple seven,
so I ran all the way to the corner of the field, and kicked the card into the corresponding one
on Chang's side. I answered the question correctly, and the man dressed like a woman fell
through the floor and into a pool of water.

My dreams are madness.

Happy international steampunk day!

So yeah, that title.
Also, in honour of said day, Artifakt was in Antwerp today to celebrate,
and what better way to do it than with a picknick, I mean, the sun is there!

Pictures will be online soon,
but for now, just know that there were six of us, which isn't a lot,
but we had a jolly good time,

We sat ourselves down on a field of grass at the back of Antwerp Central Station
and we had lots of foodstuff, good company, and music, what more can one want.

I know it's a really short post, but here, have Shinto with a bow, Shinto loves bows.

My old hobby, the future, and a rant.

Helluuw interwebs!

next up in our list of subjects to talk about, is something I have been doing for..
about six years now, and that's 'messing around with game development'.

Yeah you heard that correctly. A long time ago, years before I even stumbled
upon this dimension, I was busy building interactive experiences.
But that was just a way to pass the time to be honest,
I did make sprites and some maps, I got the combat system exciting
and the story.. well it wasn't awful, most of the times.

I kept starting different projects, but never came around to actually
taking one seriously. I think the biggest I ever made a game was about
one hour of gameplay.

Anyway, that's part of my goals in this world, I see now, to learn
how to develop games. I set a goal for myself a few days ago,
since I started being serious about this and learning how to use
the Unity game engine.

-Goal: develop a game for Wii U between this and june 2018.
That must be possible, not only in terms of game development,
but also to get Nintendo to allow me to put my game in the E-shop,
because Nintendo really supports indie developers.

Which brings me to my next point; the other next-generation consoles.
Look, we don't know what Sony's gonna do with the ps4.
We will probably know more about it at E3 in four days.
What we do know, is what the Wii U can do. Or at least,
what it's doing right now, and that's really really cool.

But then there's the 'Xbox One' monster Microsoft unveiled recently.
Their presentation was almost at the halfway point when they went
'oh yeah, it plays games.' because they don't even CARE about the
gaming. They focus on tv, internet, things like that, which we don't
even NEED in a gaming console.
Then they made it even worse, by restricting access to content.
Basically, you now RENT the game, instead of buying it.
You can't trade it in at gamestop, game mania, or stores like that.
You can't loan it to a friend.
(Actually, you can, but only to 1 friend. Who's on your friends list
for over 30 days. Which is stupid.)
They even went as far as to say you can 'let your family experience
the game from the console.'
What they're saying is that allowing family to play the game you bought
is a FEATURE now. We should be going WOAAAW because
of that. Another thing. Xbox One is always on. The Kinect Sensor
is required. Even for non-kinect-games. Basically, Xbox One now
posesses an always-on-webcam into your living room.
And guess what they're going to do? Totally not record it or something.

I don't get it, Microsoft. How can you be so idiotic,
to make all of those stupid decisions? You're literally going 'fuck you'
to us, gamers. Gamers who already decided to go Sony/Nintendo
before the Xbox is even RELEASED.

I'm sorry for this rant, I just don't get it.
